Wire Rope Replacement
Arkansas River, Fort Smith, AR
Replacement of all 64 of the 2-inch counterweight operating wire ropes, along with the operating wire rope drums and the installation of a new bull gear on the bridge towers, 240 feet from water elevation. To access the counterweight towers, OCCI utilized a crane with a 240-foot main boom on a floating barge package. All critical components, including the new drums and bull gear, were removed and installed within a single closure window.
