Feature of Work: Steel Repair, Falsework Installation
OCCI, Inc. completed the project to rehabilitate the existing bridge Harahan Bridge to provide a pedestrian/bike bridge over the Mississippi River from Memphis, Tennessee to West Memphis Arkansas. A new boardwalk was constructed utilizing the existing structural steel on the north side of the existing bridge. This existing steel superstructure previously supported vehicular traffic that occupied the roadway adjacent to the railroad tracks. The project included over 400 replace in kind steel repairs, 1.2 million pounds of galvanized structural steel boardwalk, 47,800 square feet of aluminum deck walkway planking, and mesh screening along the 4,800 lineal feet of boardwalk.
