OCCI, Inc. completed the repair project of the 1,786 feet long bridge on State Rtoute 56 Highway over the Caney Fork River in Dekalb County Tennessee. The project was completed in three major phases in order to maintain live traffic across the bridge throughout the duration of the project. A safe span was installed under the bridge to provide access for steel repairs and structural steel painting. The major repairs included, truss strengthening, joint repairs on the truss, removal and replacement of stringer beams, rivet removal and replacement with high strength bolts, new deck drains, floor beam strengthening, repair to expansion joints, epoxy injection on the existing substructure, concrete deck removal, and installation of 2,000 yards of lightweight concrete.
