Rebuild Bridge 73.31, LS 1281 Lafayette Span

The project encompassed the fabrication and assembly of a new 150’ swing span with full operating machinery. Span float-in completed within 96-hour window to remove old span, install new span with new center pivot and wedges including new grouted roller track. Work also included driving six new intermediate piers under live train traffic with 24” x 150’ concrete filled pipe pile. Multiple 6-hour windows were utilized to make span change outs, remove existing TPG spans, drive support pile foundations and replace new precast ballast panels.
