The Project Engineer is responsible for coordination of field activities, fixed-material purchases and working with the Project Manager and Superintendent to deliver a project within budget and schedule.  A successful individual will have strong team-building skills and comfort working with field workers, Superintendents and Owners’ representatives onsite.  The ability to problem solve while under pressure, multi-task, negotiate and communicate effectively is essential.

Essential Duties:

  • Develops work methods and leads preparatory to ensure all operations are conducted in alignment with Company procedures, project specs and best-practices.
  • Performs administrative duties such as daily progress reports, labor reports and budget updates, drafts purchase orders, submittals and RFI’s.
  • Responsible for drawing and plan review.
  • Responsible for regular project schedule updates.
  • Performs Quality Control on work product with crew Foreman, noting any deficiencies and documenting properly. Participates in root cause analysis on QC issues.
  • Assists Project Manager with value engineering proposals and change orders.
  • Makes adjustments and problem – solves work methods on-site as needed to maintain project schedule.
  • Assists with future project estimating as needed.

  • 3+ years of construction experience, experience with Bridges / Structures required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Engineering or Construction Management (Active P.E., a plus)
  • Willingness to Travel – must have an active Drivers License
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Desire to learn and ability to problem solve
  • Experience with construction software such as P6, Hard Dollar, Viewpoint or equivalent
  • Attention to detail

Ability to work on active construction site
